In Lemon & Lou: A New Tuxedo, Mr. Lemon is a street magician with more heart than talent. Lou is a mysterious dog with no home. When the two meet, the sparks of friendship fly and they set off on a journey of magic, action, and the kind of love only shared by a dog and his human! The best adventures are more magical with a friend.
We believe friendship is the perfect foundation for acceptance, equality, ambassadorship, and is universally recognized by all age groups. One of the most special kinds of friendship that is often overlooked is between a pet and their human. It's a relationship built on absolute love. We aim to spread this message through the story of Mr. Lemon and the most magical dog, Lou.
Author Michael C. Countryman, and Illustrator T.G.Novy are both highly creative and even more collaborative. Creativity and collaboration are cornerstones in their relationship. So creating a children’s book together seemed serendipitous, if not destined, to happen eventually.
While T spends her days painting and drawing, Michael is recording interviews for his podcast, This Looks Promising, which illuminates the “no bullshit” version of getting started in the creative industry, its highs and (infrequently addressed) lows, and what others are doing to redefine success.
When he is not recording or publishing his content, Michael is coaching young creatives, teaching coursework on living a healthy creative life, practicing bodywork, and painting models for commission.
